Commitment to user-centred design and usability principles define the vision in all our work.
Massive Build. Complex. Huge Success.
Interesting... and from our archives
Ryerson University is one of Canada's premier universities, with tremendous offerings for its students both in and out of classes. BY 2005, it had become clear that its digital presence, did not match the vibrancy of its staff or its students. Devlin undertook a major restructuring of the existing site. The Ryerson site was enormous and it needed to fulfil its requirements to the many contributers and to the thousands of users.
This project was both complicated and complex as Devlin had to overcome a number of significant obstacles with content orginating from multiple systems and development environments. We overhauled the site's design, usability and functionality, including a new information architecture and intuitive navigation. Given the nature of the site users, Devlin conducted extensive usability testing in our in-house usability lab.
The result was a vastly improved user experience. Importantly, the content management system Devlin put in place enabled non-technical Ryerson staff to be utterly confident and competent in managing and updating content, as well as changing site templates easily and efficiently. Proof, indeed that for Devlin, no project is too large or too complex.
